Rita Ora
Rita Sahatciu
Ora is a British actress, singer, and songwriter. She became famous in February
2012 when she featured on DJ Fresh's track "Hot Right Now", which
reached number one in the UK. Ora her debut studio album was released August
2012. It debuted at No. 1 in the United Kingdom. The UK number one hit single,
"R.I.P." was included on the album. "How We Do (Party),"
and "R.I.P." Ora was the artist who had the highest number-one
singles on the UK Singles Chart 2012, with three singles hitting #1. Ora's
sophomore studio album, Phoenix which was released in November of 2018. The
album's lead single, "Your Song", was a hit in the UK top ten, and
the following singles "Anywhere" and "Let You Love Me" reached
the top five in the UK. "Let You Love Me" is what made Ora the first
British female solo artist to record thirteen top ten hits within the United
Kingdom. Ora was born to Albanian parents in Pristina in SFR Yugoslavia. Vera
(nee Bajraktari) is her mother. She is a psychiatrist. Besnik Sahatciu, her
father, is a keeper at a pub and previously studied economics. Ora is the elder
sister of Elena and Don who is the younger brother. Rita Sahatciu, her birth
name, was pronounced as [sahat'tSiuand her surname is derived from the Turkish
word saatci (which literally is "watchmaker") however her parents
included Ora to their surnames so that it could be easy to pronounce. Her
family moved out of Kosovo for political reasons due to the persecution of
Albanians caused by the demise of Yugoslavia.They moved to London, England in
1991 at the age of young. Her home was Notting Hill, West London. She was a
student at the Sylvia Young Theatre School for performing arts.
